Bloomfield, NJ- On October 21, 2019 at approximately 2255 hours, Bloomfield Police Officers responded to 549 Bloomfield Avenue, Civilized Nation shoe store on a burglar alarm. When the officers arrived, they observed the back glass door to be smashed. Officers made entry to the store and checked for any suspects. The owner of the store responded and discovered that approximately $2600 worth of sneakers was taken during the burglary. 

Bloomfield Police Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene and was able to retrieve video of the incident and fingerprints from the suspects. From the video, Detectives were able to obtain detailed pictures of the suspects, the clothing they were wearing and the backpacks they had on their backs. There were three African American male juveniles that were in the store that night and were primary suspects. 

A Patrol alert was dispersed to all Bloomfield Officers with pictures of the suspects. Also, a TRAX ALERT was disseminated to surrounding towns for assistance with identifying the suspects. While canvassing the area for leads and investigating this incident, Detectives observed a juvenile that fit the suspect description carrying the same back pack that was worn on the night of the burglary.

Detectives arrested a 15 year old juvenile from Orange, NJ for this incident, and he was charged with Burglary, Theft and Possession of Burglar Tools. He was transported to Essex County Juvenile Intake. 

There are two other suspects still at large in connection with this Burglary.
