NEWARK, NJ - Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II, and Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel A. DeMaio reported that the Bloomfield Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating Friday's' fatal pedestrian incident. The joint statement was issued today.
The pedestrian, Patrick Forsyth, 59, of Bloomfield was struck by a man driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck at approximately 8:33 AM on Friday, Jan. 11, at the intersection of Broad and James Streets. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he was pronounced dead at 9:12 am on Jan. 11.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene.
At this time, no charges have been filed. The investigation is active and ongoing.
