Dr. Russonella, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over two decades of experience, founded North Jersey Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute (NJOSMI) in 2009, with office locations on Franklin Avenue in Nutley, and Broad Street in Clifton.

Whether it’s performing arthroscopic knee surgery in the operating room, or tending to sprains on the football field, Dr. Russonella brings to the control board a high-performing standard of skill and knowledge in caring for and treating athletes.

“Being a boxing physician for the State of New Jersey is a privilege and I am honored to serve under Commissioner Larry Hazzard to make sure these superior athletes remain in top condition,” said Russonella.  “I’m excited to help protect the safety and well-being of participants and promote public confidence and trust in the regulatory process and conduct of combative sports.”

His familiarity with cutting edge surgical and non-surgical treatments ensure all his patients receive the care they need, no matter the source of their discomfort.

Dr. Russonella completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the North Shore-LIJ Health System in New York and went on to complete his Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
