MOUNT HOLLY, NJ-- The Burlington Prosecutor's Office is warning about a COVID scam that could potentially harm businesses, who are already struggling due to the pandemic.
Recently, someone posted a false notice, supposedly from the Burlington County Health Department, outside of a business in Marlton, which claimed the establishment was ordered to close for one week due to multiple customers testing positive for COVID-19 after visting the store.
A fake Burlington County Seal was used in the notice, and is pictured here. The correct County Seal is also pictured.
The Prosecutor's Office encourages members of the public who are seeking to verify information concerning COVID-19 to call the County Health Department at 609-265-5548.
