BORDENTOWN, NJ-- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a federal holiday that takes place each year on the third Monday of January. The holiday marks the birthday of the civil rights giant, and is being celebrated this year on Monday, January 18.

Being that it is a federal holiday, federal government offices, the Post Office and most banks will be closed on Monday. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is also a state holiday, so state government offices and agencies will also be closed, in addition to both the Bordentown Township and Bordentown City municipal offices.

In Bordentown City, trash will not be collected on Monday, as the Public Works Department will be closed.
