BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County 4-H Fair returns to North Branch Park, in Bridgewater, Aug. 8 through Aug. 10 for its 71st anniversary of free family fun.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m on all three days with parking at the park itself, and free shuttle buses running from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. each day from Raritan Valley Community College.

The fair will include twirling, go karts, rockets, magic, model airplanes, R.C. cars, model trains and other 4-H clubs that will compete and perform. There will be an Arts & Science Tent and Prep Tent with exhibits, activities for visitors, demonstrations and performances.

In addition, other tents will house a variety of animals, including dairy cows, alpaca, horses, dogs, sheep, goats, rabbits and small animals.

Food will be provided by 20 non-profit organizations.

There are more than 1,000 youth involved in the 4-H program, with more than 300 regular volunteers and hundreds of people who help all year long.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station-Cooperative Extension, and programs are offered to all kids in grades kindergarten through 13.
