6th Annual Basilone Bowl Media Day Introduces Players From All Over County

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The 6th annual Basilone Bowl, in honor of Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone of Raritan, will be held June 14 at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, and five BRHS football players will play for the Devil Dogs.

Kickoff for the event, at Basilone Field, will be 7 p.m.

The players in the game, from all over the county, were introduced May 7.

The game is played in honor of late Marine Basilone. Senior football players from every school in the county, and Delaware Valley, are chosen to play as part of either the Devil Dogs or the Leather Necks in a final football game near the end of the school year.

Playing for Bridgewater-Raritan High School, as part of the Devil Dogs team, are Nick Celli, Chike Nwankwo, Eric Laputka, CJ Hall and Lawrence Nice.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police are investigating a report of a theft of more than $2,000 from a vehicle parked at the Home Depot, in the Bridgewater Towne Center, according to a report.
