BRIDGEWATER, NJ - If you are looking for a family-friendly church, we would love to have you at Bridgewater United Methodist Church. BUMC is a friendly, welcoming community that ministers to all who wish to grow in faith.

Our fall worship schedule started Sept. 20 with Traditional Worship at 9 a.m. and Contemporary Worship at 10:30 a.m.  We are thrilled to have children of all ages in worship, but there is also childcare for children 3 and under in our nursery.

Diana, our lead childcare coordinator, who is on staff, runs the nursery every week, along with an additional trained volunteer, so you can feel comfortable leaving your child with a familiar face!  There are always two adults in the nursery.

At 9:15, we offer Sunday School for children (ages 3 and above) and adults, and a second adult class at 10:30 a.m.  Confirmation is for 7th and 8th graders, and youth group begins in 5th grade.

In addition to Sunday mornings there are a number of other ways to get to know other young families in the church (at BUMC unless otherwise noted):

  • Oct. 16:  Families of 1st – 4th graders will paint pumpkins from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 25 from 3 – 5 p.m.:  BUMC is hosting our annual community Trunk or Treat event which is perfect for kids (and kids at heart).

We do a number of great events throughout the year for young families such a potlucks, pool parties, and picnics.  Have a new idea?  Just let us know!

If you have any questions about the church or activities for families and children please contact Cathi Reckenbeil at cathi@bridgewaterumc.org or 908-526-1414 ext. 5.
