Evan Brochinsky, a local teenage magician, was recently honored by Somerset County 4-H with a county award in Performing Arts.
Brochinsky is a member and past officer of the Somerset County 4-H Magicians Guild, the county’s magic club.
When asked about Brochinsky and the award, club leader Conrad Colon said, “Evan is amazing! He is a natural entertainer and has a passion and professional view on magic."
"He is inspiring to other club members," Colon added.
Brochinsky performs annually at the Somerset County 4-H Fair, which is one of the largest family fairs in the area. In addition to performing with his club, Brochinsky presented his own show in the Fair’s Clover Theatre.
Brochinsky has been a magician for five years. He first began performing after watching the Magicians Guild perform at the 4-H Fair. While Brochinsky's favorite tricks involve audience perception, his magic repertoire includes effects with everything from ropes and cards to more interesting props like drumsticks and even musical instruments.
When asked how his tricks are done, Brochinsky simply said, “Very well.”
Brochinsky’s magic can be seen at Somerset County 4-H events and at various community events. For more information on Brochinsky and his magic you can email MagicOfEvan@gmail.com
