BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan baseball team took advantage of five errors and a very efficient pitching performance to defeat Westfield, 3-1, on Friday.
Ian Smoke needed just 62 pitches to get through six-plus innings for Bridgewater-Raritan (2-4), allowing six hits, walking two and striking out one for the victory. Cal Henderson earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning. Smoke took a shutout into the seventh.
David Olsakowski went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Panthers, who scored a run in the third inning and two more in the sixth. Jacob Olson singled in a run fo BRHS, which also scored an unearned run.
