BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys basketball team defeated Phillipsburg, 69-60, Monday to win the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 tournament.

Bridgewater-Raritan's Sterling White scored 18 points, with three 3-pointers in the game, while Tony Colarusso scored 16 points, with his own three 3-pointers.

In addition, Bridgewater-Raritan's Brian Cooper scored 15 points with three 3-pointers, and Aaron Gao scored 14 points.

The two teams were tied, 23-23, at the end of the first quarter, but Bridgewater-Raritan took the lead in the second quarter, adding 17 points to Phillipsburg's 10. The team maintained the lead for the rest of the game.

The team now advances to Wednesday's quarterfinals against Scotch Plains-Fanwood.
