BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan High School field hockey team defeated Montclair Wednesday to win the NJSIAA/Investors Bank Group 4 semifinal game, 7-3.

The team has been named No. 6 in the Top 20 of field hockey teams in the state.

The Bridgewater-Raritan team saw two goals from Emily Miller and one apiece from Samantha Giordano and Kelly Watson by the end of the first half, followed by two more goals in the second half from Lindsay Alvarez and another from Watson.

The Panthers will now face Eastern Saturday for the Group 4 state championship at Bordentown High School. According to, this is the 10th straight year the two teams have faced off for the title, with the past nine years going to Eastern.
