BRHS Orchestra Association Holding Clothing Fundraiser in May

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Orchestra Parents Association is holding a "Deposit Your Closet" fundraiser to support the organization.

Items can be dropped off beginning May 1 at the orchestra room storage closet. All items should be secured within heavy plastic garbage bags.

Donations can also be delivered May 9 during the next OPA member meeting.

The final pick-up will be after Memorial Day, one evening after school during the first week of June.

Anyone interested in helping with drop-offs or pick-ups should email brhsopa@gmail.com. There is also a sign-up sheet posted in the orchestra room for students to sign up to help.

The organization is looking to top its previous collection of 1,964 pounds of donations.

The items being collected are:

  • All types of clothing for men, women and children, plus sneakers and shoes
  • Household items like blankets, sheets, pillows, bedspreads, quilts, comforters, towels, curtains and bath accessories
  • Accessories like purses, backpacks, belts, hats, gloves, socks, scarves and baby items
  • Toys like stuffed animals, cars, airplanes, blocks and playsets.

For the fundraiser, the organization is working with clothingdrivefundraiser.com, and they will receive a monetary donation based on the total weight of the items collected.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police are investigating a report of a theft of more than $2,000 from a vehicle parked at the Home Depot, in the Bridgewater Towne Center, according to a report.
