BRHS Soccer Players Commit to Colleges, Sign National Letters of Intent

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A total of six seniors from the Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls varsity soccer team will be continuing their soccer careers in college this fall, including three who signed National Letters of Intent with NCAA Division 1 schools.

Team captains Hayley Soriano, Taylor Mongno and Samantha Orecchio will be playing Division 1 collegiate soccer. Soriano will be attending Dartmouth College (NH), Mongno will be attending Marist College (NY) and Orecchio will be attending Towson University (MD).

Additionally, seniors Abby Ousouljoglou (SUNY Oneonta), Erika Lepik (Nazareth College, NY) and Alexa Barbagallo (Wheaton College, MA) will be continuing their soccer careers in college.

Coaches Chris Gerber and Stephanie Romanko, joined the girls for National Signing Day Feb. 3  at the high school.  Soriano, Orecchio, Mongno and Ousouljoglou were members of the Panthers 2013 NJSIAA Group IV State Championship team.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.
