BRHS Students Honored for Athletic Awards

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A number of Bridgewater-Raritan High School students and coaches were recognized at a recent board of education meeting for high achievements in sports and more throughout the last year.

First, student Raj Koshal was recognized as the NJ Speech and Debate League state champion for international extemporaneous speaking.

The boys and girls swimming teams were also recognized for being NJSIAA Public A State Champions this year.

Also honored for individual athletic awards were:

  • Sean Foley – NJ.Com Coach of the Year, boys swimming
  • Allison Lynch – Soccer, NJ.Com First Team All Group All State, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV (Girls)
  • Brady Regan — Soccer, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV (Boys)
  • Rachel White — Field Hockey, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV
  • Justin Bryant — Football, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV
  • Chike Nwankwo — Football, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV
  • Brandon Myers — Football, NJ.Com First Team All Group Group IV
  • Heather Gaughran — Group IV Winter Track Pole Vault Relay State Champion
  • Cristina Young — Group IV Winter Track Pole Vault Relay State Champion

Somerville Woman Arrested for Shoplifting from Macy's, According to Bridgewater Police Report

July 14, 2018

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerville woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons Mall July 7, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Sara Morales-Silva, 51, was charged with shoplifting after she was found with about $435.04 worth of merchandise from the store.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
