BRHS Wind Ensemble Performs at Music For All Festival (With Video)

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Wind Ensemble performed at the 2017 Music For All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis March 8 through March 12, the first wind ensemble in the school’s history to be invited to perform at this prestigious festival.

While at the festival, the wind ensemble performed for 45 minutes in a packed concert hall, earning multiple standing ovations. 

Their repertoire included “March of the Belgian Parachutist” by Pierre Leemans, “Endurance” by Timothy Mahr, “This is the Drum” by Andrew Boysen, “Toccata Martial” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and “Variations on ‘America’” by Charles Ives.

The wind ensemble is an honors level course emphasizing personal growth, performance, enthusiasm and leadership. Musicians from the band have been selected to other prestigious ensembles, including the Central Jersey Region Bands, the New Jersey All-State Bands and more.

In addition, the wind ensemble is always invited to the New Jersey State Gala Concert, and was selected again to perform this year.

Band directors and parents are very proud of how hard the students have worked for their achievements, and the highest levels of artistic expression they bring to the community on a regular basis.
