BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Following more than a year of negotiations, the Bridgewater Township Council approved the purchase of Camp Cromwell, more than 100 acres of open space and recreation in Martinsville.

The property is on Vosseller Avenue, near the intersection with Gilbride Road, on the north slope of the First Watchung Ridge.

The Boys Club of New York has owned the property since 1985.

The cost of the purchase is $7.5 million, and $6.5 million of that is being paid for by the Somerset County Improvement Authority. The remaining $1.5 million is being paid for from the township’s Open Space Trust Fund.
