Bridgewater Bicyclist Taken to Hospital with Life Threatening Injuries Following Easton Turnpike Crash

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries following a crash on Easton Turnpike Oct. 4 at 3:59 p.m., according to a release from Bridgewater Township Police.

According to the release, 63-year-old Jeffrey Kampf, of Hillsborough, was driving east on Easton Turnpike in a 2015 BMW X1 in the area of the Bridgeway Care Center at the time of the crash with 75-year-old Peter Castle, of Bridgewater, who was traveling east on a bicycle in the right shoulder.

Castle, the release said, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick with life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau.

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
