BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Council passed several resolutions at its most recent meeting, including for tax payments, improvement projects and construction work.

The first resolution extended the grace period for the third quarter taxes from Aug. 1 to Sept. 7 for payment of taxes. The council said the grace period is given because tax bills were just recently sent in the township.

A contract was awarded for $66,000 to AA Berms, LLC, for the 2018 Sidewalk Improvement Project. It will be funded through the township’s 2014 Capital Fund, and will replace concrete sidewalk slabs that have been damaged by tree root systems in various locations throughout Bridgewater.

A contract for $285,140 was awarded to Desantis Construction, Inc., for the Country Club Road Improvement Project, from Lyme Rock Road to Roosevelt Street East. The project will be funded through the township’s 2017 Capital Fund.

The lone ordinance for introduction on the Aug. 6 agenda didn’t make it to a council vote. It would have authorized the execution of a license agreement with the American Red Cross to utilize up to four parking spaces at the Bridgewater Municipal Complex, located at 100 Commons Way.

A motion was made to introduce the ordinance, but the measure was not seconded.
