BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Garden Club is holding its annual Boxwood Tree sale, beginning in late November.
The sale is a holiday tradition for community members who have purchased trees for their own decorations and as gifts. According to a release, club members hand-fashion the 12-inch boxwood trees with festive glass balls, pinecones and ribbon in early December.
The trees are on sale at the Bridgewater Township Library, on Vogt Drive, for $35, and they are in high demand but limited in number because of the time it takes to create them.
A pre-sale order list is available at the information desk at the library from Nov. 20 through Nov. 26.
Pre-ordered trees will be ready for pick-up Dec. 8 from noon to 9 p.m. and Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, general sales will be Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the supply of trees runs out.
Trees that are not retrieved by the evening of Dec. 9 will be placed into general sales.
Payment can be made by cash or local bank check.
Proceeds from the sale will be directed toward the garden club’s charitable donations, including workshops, seasonal decorating at the Cancer Support Community in Pluckemin, caring for the library’s gardens and the achievement award given to a graduating senior from the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School’s horticulture program.
