BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Shade Tree Board and the Assam Foundation of North America announce a tree dedication celebration Oct. 7 in recognition of October as Urban and Community Forestry Month.
The Tree 4 All celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library, on Vogt Drive.
The event, according to a release, will include a memorial tree dedication, live music and cultural arts performances.
In addition, the Consulate General of India, New York, will offer and process an expedited India Tourist Visa application. Those looking to apply should bring their current passport, appropriate paperwork and associated fees.
The event is being sponsored through the support of the Assam Foundation of North America.
The celebration, the release said, will also mark Bridgewater’s achievement as being recognized as a Tree City USA community from the U.S. Forestry Service for the 21st consecutive year.
During the event, a portion of the library parking lot will be transformed into an arts courtyard with music, dance and visual performances by various groups and organizations that are part of the cultural mosaic of the community. Community exhibits will be offered as part of the event, and local business exhibits will also be available for review.
In addition, there will be food for purchase from Masala Art, with additional hot food items, ice cream, Italian ice and snacks.
