BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township is seeking feedback from residents regarding planned bus service to New York City from a park and ride in town.

The township park and ride is located at the corner of Milltown Road and Route 22, and the plan is for drop-offs in New York City at 42nd Street and 3rd Avenue, 42nd Street and 5th Avenue, 42nd Street and 7th Avenue and United Nations.

Township administrator James Naples said the township has been looking into the service to find a company to contract with, and they are currently talking with Coach USA.

"They are willing to do a 90-day run with one-bus service," he said.

Naples said the township has created a survey to find out what residents think the best time for the trial service would be.

"The company wants to start out slow and build this up," he said.

The expectation, Naples said, is that the service will begin in late August or early September.
