Bridgewater Police Searching for Jewelry Thief

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police is searching for someone who stole two Rolex watches, worth more than $29,000, from a Bridgewater jewelry store Sept. 28.

According to police, the suspect entered a local jewelry store and spoke to the staff, appearing to be interested in watches. After that, the suspect excused himself to make a phone call, and store employees walked away.

Police said the suspect then removed a small sledgehammer from a satchel, smashed the glass display case and removed two Rolex watches from the case. The two watches were valued at more than $29,000.

The suspect, police said, fled from the store and drove off in an older model, four-door Nissan Sentra.

Somerville Woman Arrested for Shoplifting from Macy's, According to Bridgewater Police Report

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerville woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons Mall July 7, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Sara Morales-Silva, 51, was charged with shoplifting after she was found with about $435.04 worth of merchandise from the store.
