BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Council unanimously approved a resolution Dec. 21 for additional money to be put toward 2015 legal fees relating to COAH regulations.
The resolution provides for an additional $5,000 for maintaining affordable housing units, to be paid from the Housing Trust Fund, and an additional $10,000 related to litigation fees.
Township administrator James Naples said township attorney William Savo has been doing extra work for the township to wade through the new state COAH regulations and maintain the number of affordable units the township already has.
In addition, Naples said, there were additional litigation costs to deal with.
“There were several things the firm took on that hadn’t been anticipated at the beginning of the year,” he said. “It was well worth the money spent.”
