UNION, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys lacrosse team suffered its first defeat in two years with an 8-7 loss to Pingry Wednesday in the Tournament of Champions semifinals at Kean University.

The loss ended Bridgewater-Raritan's 42-game winning streak that began at the start of the 2015 season, and culminated with a Tournament of Champions win last year. Bridgewater-Raritan was seeded number one this season, and ended with a record of 19-1.

Pingry started strong in the first quarter with four goals to Bridgewater-Raritan's one, before both added two goals each in the second quarter. Although Bridgewater-Raritan came back to within one goal of Pingry in the third quarter, the team couldn't take the lead throughout the game.

Bridgewater-Raritan's Brian Kolen scored four goals for the team, followed by Ethan Christensen, Ryan Kaden and Ethan Locker with one each.
