BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritangirls varsity lacrosse team won its first Group 4 title since 2009, defeating Eastern Saturday, 16-4.
The team now advances to the Tournament of Champions semifinals, Wednesday at Middletown North High School.
Bridgewater-Raritan's Ally Mastroianni scored the first goal about two minutes into the game, and the team jumped ahead to an 8-1 lead by halftime.
Mastroianni and Hannah Hollingsworth tied with four goals apiece, followed by Julia Lytle with three goals. They were followed by Tai Jankowski and Tristin Konen with two goals each, and Kirsten Murphy with one.
Bridgewater-Raritan goalies Carlie Bendavid and Arielle Weissman had three and nine saves, respectively.
