ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - About 365 high school students, including one from Bridgewater-Raritan High School, were honored for their achievements at the annual NJSIAA scholar-athlete luncheon in May.

Kirsten Murphy, a 2017 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, was honored. She played volleyball and lacrosse at the school.

Under the scholar-athlete program, each NJSIAA member school selects one senior student as its scholar-athlete of the year. Students who attend the luncheon are then awarded, at minimum, a $500 college scholarship in recognition of their accomplishments.

"These student-athletes worked extremely hard in the classroom and in their respective sports to stand out from their peers," Steve Timko, NJSIAA exective director, said in a release. "This luncheon is our way of applauding their efforts and wishing them well as they begin college."
