Bridgewater-Raritan High School Orchestra Parent Association Holding Fundraising Drives

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The newly created Bridgewater-Raritan High School Orchestra Parent Association is hosting a Premier Designs Jewelry Fundraiser at its Oct. 18 meeting.

The demo will be at 7:45 p.m., and alumni and friends are welcome.

Guests are invited from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to view the high fashion jewelry, start their holiday shopping and help raise funds for the students.

A total of 25 percent of the sales will be donated to the Bridgewater-Raritan musicians for their award-winning trip to Indianapolis.

In addition, the BRHS Orchestra Parent Association will be holding a Used Clothing Drive for people to donate items they no longer need.

All items being donated should be put in well-tied trash bags, and the organization will receive a monetary donation from clothingdrivefundraiser.com based on the total weight of the items collected.

Items can be dropped off from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the cafeteria Oct. 18 or from 9 a.m. to noon in the BRHS solar panel lot Oct. 22. Anyone who is unable to make those times should contact AnnaRene Jeremiah at BRHSOPA@gmail.com.

Items being collected include all types of clothing; sneakers and shoes; blankets; pillows and sheets; bedspreads; quilts; table cloths; bath rugs; purses; hats and gloves; under garments; baby accessories; cars; play sets; blocks; and stuffed animals.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.

The event, according to a release, is being held rain or shine at 9 a.m. at Duke Island Park, on Old York Road.
