BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Because of Memorial Day and give back days, the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will not return to distance learning until Thursday.

The district will be closed Monday for Memorial Day, and then Tuesday and Wednesday for give back days after snow days went unused this year.

Superintendent Russell Lazovick reminded families of the days off in his weekly message to families.

Below is his message in its entirety:

Good Evening,

The next five days will hopefully provide an extended break for you and your family. Please remember that Wednesday is our second giveback day. There will be no distance learning.  When we return on Thursday, we will enter the final leg of the 2019-2020 school year. Instruction will continue through June 23, 2020, and you will get information from your building principals regarding end of the year procedures for your school. We continue to work to make this extreme situation meaningful and positive for everyone.

On Monday, we remember all who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  Though we cannot come together as in year’s past, we extend to everyone in our BRRSD community the invitation shared with us by Bridgewater Township encouraging residents to go outside of their homes at noon on Monday and observe a community-wide moment of silence to help us honor those who, throughout our nation’s history, have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of  our rights and liberties.

Please continue to make healthy decisions and reach out if you need anything.

Be safe and well.

Russell Lazovick

Superintendent of Schools
