Bridgewater-Raritan's Aaron Gao Helps Lead Boys Basketball Team to NJSIAA Quarterfinals Victory

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Bridgewater-Raritan's Aaron Gao made 27 points to help lead the team to a 59-49 victory over Scotch Plains-Fanwood in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 quarterfinals Wednesday.

Bridgewater-Raritan took the lead in the game in the first quarter, and kept the lead until late in the second, when they were down, 10-4. Gao had eight of his points in that span, including a 3-pointer and 3-point play, and Dan Kaschak contributed his own 3-point play.

The team took back the lead in the second half, and Bridgewater-Raritan's Tony Colarusso contributed his own 16 points, and Sterling White contributed another 10 to the team.

The team, which is now 20-7 on the season, will face Newark East Side in the semifinals Friday.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.
