FLEMINGTON, NJ - Bridgewater resident Dan Landau will be displaying his intricate paper cutting artwork at the Lone Eagle Brewing, in Flemington, for July and August.

Landau creates detailed artworks by drawing on paper roadmaps and then cutting out empty spaces with a craft knife.

“I draw on maps because for me, maps are a perfect metaphor for connection and exploration,” Landau said in a release. “Roads take us places and connect us to others, and I want my art to do the same.”

“To me, art is about exploration and venturing to different places in your mind and the consequent development of new ideas that travel – both literal and metaphorical – brings,” he added.

Landau is a self-taught paper cutting artist who focuses primarily on portraits. His work is characterized by attention to detail balanced with broad strokes of emotion.

See more of his work on his Instagram page, @danlandauart.

Lone Eagle Brewing is located at 44 Stangl Road in Flemington, and is open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays.
