WASHIINGTON, D.C. - Bridgewater resident Charles Fritz recently completed an internship in the office of Rep. Leonard Lance at the Capitol Hill office.
Fritz, 21, is a rising senior at Georgetown University, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in foreign service, according to a release.
"Charles is an intelligent young man, and it was a pleasure to have him join us as a member of our team for the spring semester," Lance said in the release. "Charles made an immediate positive impact when he joined our office and quickly became a trusted member of the team who could be relied upon to complete important tasks and projects. It was a pleasure to be able to witness Charles' professional development and I am confident that he will continue to build upon the experience he gained in our office and I wish him the best of luck going forward."
Fritz, a 2015 graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, said in the release that the internship was a rewarding experience.
"I am grateful for the opportunity because it gave me a hands-on approach to the workings of American government and politics," he said. "In addition to managing constituent concerns and working on legislative projects, I was able to attend hearings and meetings run by some of the nation's most prominent leaders."
Interns in the office perform a number of duties, including preparing briefings and reports for staffers; facilitating and guiding tours of the U.S. Capitol; greeting office visitors; and helping staff with legislative research projects.
