Bridgewater Students to be Part of County-wide Spelling Bee


MONTGOMERY, NJ - A number of Bridgewater students have earned the chance to participate in the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's Bee Spectacular County Spelling Bee, with a chance to attend the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Each of those participating were winners in their individual schools, and there are two from most of the schools because of a tie.

The bee will be held March 4 at Montgomery High School.

The emcee for the county spelling bee will be Somerset County Freeholder Patrick Scaglione, and pronouncer will be SCLSNJ County Library Administrator Brian Auger.

Judges for the evening will be Somerset County Library Commissioner Corinee Fender as head judge; Somerset County Library Commissioner George Jarvis as dictionary judge; Somerset County LIbrary Commission Vice Chair Chris Corsini as rounds and records judge; and Somerset County LIbrary Commissioner Sherri Lynn as appeals judge.

Car Fire in Wendy's Parking Lot Deemed Not Suspicious, Bridgewater Police Say

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police responded to a car fire in the parking lot of Wendy's, on Route 22 East April 9, but the fire was not deemed suspicious, according to a report.
