Bridgewater Teen Performs For India Prime Minister

NEW YORK - Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School seventh grader Sajni Patel was part of a team from AUM Dance Creations that performed at Madison Square Garden Sept. 28 before the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, took the stage.

The team has performed at Disney World and Lincoln Center this past year, and then had the opportunity to perform at Madison Square Garden. The team had three weeks to prepare the whole routine, which aired on TV Asia, and was streamed worldwide. 

Patel takes about 16 hours of dance during the year, ranging from Bollywood Indian to Western Lyrical, Hip Hop and Ballet.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.

The event, according to a release, is being held rain or shine at 9 a.m. at Duke Island Park, on Old York Road.
