Bridgewater Township Announces Eco-Blast Fair, Taste of Bridgewater


BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township is holding its annual Eco-Blast Fair on Saturday, May 6 at Kid Street Park on Commons Way.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Included in the event will be birdhouse painting for kids, an electric automobile show, an activity for kids on how to plant a seedling and Puddles, the New Jersey American Water Tap Truck.

Entertainment will be provided by The Poorhouse Pickers and the Green Planet. In addition, Gizmo D. Robot will be on hand, as will Somerset Patriots mascot Sparkee.

There will be a number of raffles and giveaways throughout the day, with prizes from Red Lobster, Top o' the Hill Tavern, Houlihan's Southwestern Grill, Chimney Rock Inn, Wing Beans Coffee Company, Time to Eat Diner, Talk of the Towns Barber Shop, Somerville Lumber and more.

Exhibitors at the event will be the Bridgewater Environmental Commission, Bridgewater Creative Arts Committee, Somerset County Recycling, RideWise, Bridgewater Township Library, Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, Martinsville Community Center, Hillside School Roots and Shoots, MOMS Club of Bridgewater, On Fire 4 Fitness, Hampton Inn and Suites, Somerset County YMCA and many more.

There will also be a Soles 4 Souls collection for new and slightly worn shoes to help those in need.

In addition, the Eco-Blast Fair will host the Taste of Bridgewater Extravaganza. There will be fun and free food from a number of local restaurants.

Included at the event will be Ruby Tuesday, Houlihan's, Applebee's, Maggiano's Little Italy, Redstone American Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, 22 West Tap and Grill, Moe's Southwest Grill and Red Lobster.

Bound Brook Man Arrested After Shoplifting from Macy's, Bridgewater Police Say

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Bound Brook man was arrested March 16 after being found with clothing from Macy's in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

David Meladze, 26, was charged with shoplifting and possession of burglar's tools.

According to the report, he was found with $160 worth of merchandise from the store.
