Bridgewater Township Approves Liquor Licenses


BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Council approved a number of liquor licenses for businesses throughout the township.

They were:

  • Renewal of Club Liquor Licenses – Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerville Lodge of Elks Post #1068, Raritan Valley Country Club, Gerald Abrego Post #327 American Legion
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Consumption Licenses – TGI Friday’s, Chimney Rock Inn, McCormick & Schmick, Club 21, Fratelli’s Restaurant, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings Bar & Grill, Ruby Tuesday, The Office at Bridgewater, California Pizza Kitchen, Houlihan’s, Crossroads, Maggiano’s Little Italy, The Cheesecake Factory, Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Red Lobster, Top O’th Hill Tavern, Seasons 52 of Bridgewater, AMC Theatres of New Jersey and Bridgewater Manor
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Distribution Licenses – Spirits of the Valley, Elliott’s Home Beverages, Wegmans Food Markets, Buy Best Wines & Liquors
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Consumption Liquor License Hotel/Motel Exception – Day’s Inn of Bridgewater, Hyatt Summerfield Suites Hotel and Hilton Gardens Inn
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Consumption Broad Package Privilege – La Catena 22
  • Plenary Retail Consumption with Special Conditions – Café Emilia and Bridgewater Marriott Hotel
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Consumption Pocket Liquor License – Redstone American Grille
  • Renewal of Plenary Retail Consumption Pocket Liquor License – Stavola Liquor License of Bridgewater

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.

The event, according to a release, is being held rain or shine at 9 a.m. at Duke Island Park, on Old York Road.

The 5K race is USATF certified.

Somerville Merchants Endorse Plan to Reduce Parking Lot Fees

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Borough’s controversial parking fees are set to undergo another revision, with hourly parking reduced from 75 to 50 cents in municipal lots 1,2,4 and 6, according to a merchant-driven plan endorsed by Mayor Ellen Brain.
