Bridgewater United Methodist Church Invites Community to Installation Service for Three Pastors

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater United Methodist Church invites the community to attend an Installation Service at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 for its three pastors, Rev. Dr. Jennifer Cho, Rev. June Tamburro, and Rev. Laura Steele. 

Childcare will be available during the service. 

Following the Installation Service, a dinner reception will be held in Fellowship Hall.  The evening is a great opportunity for the pastors and community friends to greet and enjoy a good dinner fellowship.

As the new Senior Pastor and a Full Elder of the United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Jennifer Cho oversees all the ministries at Bridgewater UMC.  She previously served churches in Newton, Mt. Tabor, Westfield, and Englewood.  She received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary with the Mary Long Grier-High Davis Preaching Award.  She obtained her Doctor of Ministry on congregational development and community transformation from Drew Theological School.

Rev. June Tamburro is appointed as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and is a commissioned Deacon in the United Methodist Church.  She focuses on developing small groups with more than 340 persons from the church and community, and is working with the Alzheimer’s Association to create a monthly caregiver support group.  She previously served East Millstone UMC and was part of the Somerset Hills Regional Ministry.  She earned her Master in Theological Studies from Drew Theological School.

Rev. Laura Steele is appointed as the new Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation with the focus on the ministries for children, young families, youth, and young adults.  She previously served East Millstone UMC and Mt. Zion UMC of Hillsborough.  She also served as the Director of Spiritual Formation at Del Ray UMC in Alexandria, Virginia.  She is currently in her Master of Divinity program at Drew Theological School.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.

The event, according to a release, is being held rain or shine at 9 a.m. at Duke Island Park, on Old York Road.

The 5K race is USATF certified.
