BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Marcus A. Carollo, son of Peter and Jackie Carollo of Bridgewater, has achieved Eagle Scout rank, boy scouting's highest rank.
Carollo, 19, is a member of Boy Scout Troop 46, sponsored by Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, and under the leadership of Scoutmaster Scott Lau. Carollo began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub with Pack 46 and continued through cub scouting to achieve the highest award, the Arrow of Light.
As a member of Troop 46, Carollo attended many weekend camp outings, as well as high adventure trips, including Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Zion National Park in Utah, trekking to the Grand Canyon. He has earned 24 merit badges over the years.
Carollo said he is grateful for many mentors, but especially Albert Santelli.
For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Carolloo coordinated a work crew that re-painted fire hydrants throughout Bridgewater and Martinsville. Under his direction, scouts and adult volunteers completed the project that took more than 30 man-hours.
"Through scouting, one will learn the meaning of comradery, brotherhood and cooperation, and share a lifetime of memories,” he said.
Carollo is entering his second year at college pursuing marketing. He reached his goal of Eagle prior to his 18th birthday in summer 2017, and received his Eagle badge during a court of honor ceremony June 16, 2018.
