Bridgewater's Green Planet Band Performs in Bound Brook

BOUND BROOK, NJ - Bridgewater's own Green Planet Band performed for a crowd at The Westbrook, in Bound Brook, July 29.

The slogan for the band is "Recycling Rock n' Roll One Song at a Time."

In the band are Kylee Rapp, 11, on guitar and vocals; Tyler Rapp, 9, on drums; and Anna Rapp, 9, on bass.

The band has a number of upcoming performances planned – Aug. 11 at noon at the Somerset County 4-H Fair; Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Bridgewater Farmer's Market; Sept. 14 at the Bridgewater Electric Ride Car Show; Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. at Stone Soup at KidStreet Park in Bridgewater; and Sept. 23 at the Bridgewater Eagle Riders Charity Event - Benefit for Soldier's Angels.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.

The event, according to a release, is being held rain or shine at 9 a.m. at Duke Island Park, on Old York Road.

The 5K race is USATF certified.
