BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Caritas Chamber Chorale, which rehearses in Bridgewater, is holding auditions for its 2018-2019 season.
Auditions will be held in August, and all voice parts are welcome, although tenors are particularly encouraged.
The Caritas Chamber Chorale is an ensemble of more than 20 singers who work for musical, artistic and spiritual beauty, rooted in a shared humanity, according to a release. The choir is dedicated to serving the poorest of the poor through the art of music, the release said, and presents concerts through central New Jersey and beyond, all benefiting the Adorno Fathers' St. Francis Caracciolo Miission and their Gianni Diurni Primary School in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.
The choir is directed by founder Barbara Sanderman, and works with composer in residence Wayne Dietterick.
The choir also participates in workshops and events with experts in choral music; collaborates with other groups; travels; performs concert tours; records; and participates in local outreach and other activities.
Most of the repertoire is sacred Christian music, and is done a cappella.
