BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County is recruiting volunteer tutors to teach literacy skills to adult learners.
Tutors receive 15 hours of training in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages over five sessions. Upon completion of the training, tutors are matched with an adult learner. They generally meet once a week for tutoring sessions, normally at a local library.
Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County will be offering a tutor-training class for those interested in becoming a literacy volunteer. Classes will be held at the PeopleCare Center at 120 Finderne Avenue in Bridgewater, on the following days:
