BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A number of closures and cancellations have been announced throughout Bridgewater and Raritan in the wake of the post-Thanksgiving storm that is battering the area with more snow than originally expected.

Keep checking back for updates throughout the day and into the evening.

  • All schools closed early Monday, and evening events, athletics and the planned board of education retreat were canceled Monday. The retreat was rescheduled for Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Richard Hall Health & Wellness Center, on Vogt Drive is closing early, at 5 p.m., and will re-open Dec. 3.
  • The Raritan Valley Community College closed at 1 p.m. Monday.
  • All Bridgewater Township offices are closing at 3 p.m. Monday.
  • Raritan Municipal Court was canceled Monday.
  • The Bridgewater Township Library was closing at 3 p.m.

Bridgewater and Raritan are under a winter storm warning until 4 a.m. Dec. 3. The National Weather Service is reporting the potential for 5 to 8 inches of snow in total, with it becoming heavy Monday afternoon and evening.

Anyone who must travel should keep an extra flashlight, food and water in the vehicle in case of emergency.
