BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Students from Eisenhower Intermediate School’s community service organization, Helping Hands, along with the Student Council, participated in a food packaging event last Wednesday with Rise Against Hunger.
The organization provides nourishing meals to areas that are impacted by hunger and poverty.
In order to host the event, students had to raise more than $3,000, which they did last November by participating in a cookie dough and cheesecake fundraiser.
Throughout the school year, students learned about how hunger impacts much of the world’s population, and students were excited to participate in an event to help fight the epidemic.
More than 70 students donned hair nets and plastic gloves, and packaged more than 11,232 meals to be sent around the globe to help those in need.
