EAST AMWELL, NJ – The 20th annual Hunterdon County 4-H and Agriculture Fair is underway now through Sunday, Aug. 25.
Although light rain is falling on Hunterdon this morning, the National Weather Service expects it to taper off by afternoon. That’s good news for the big fireworks show that is scheduled for 9:15 this evening.
The Fair’s fun includes dozens of shows and contests, all sorts of food, a variety of amusement rides for all ages and free Main Stage entertainment. All of the fun happens at the Roger K. Everitt Fairgrounds here, on Route 179 just south of Ringoes. Admission is free; the $10 donation benefits local fire companies and rescue squads.
As always, former 4-H member Dan “Doctor D” Torrone will make sure the fun is non-stop on the Main Stage. Today’s highlights include Bob Lloyd’s “More Than Magic” show on the Main Stage at 12:30 p.m., Goat Olympics at 1 p.m., free ice cream sundaes in the Dairy Den at 2 p.m., Back Porch Jug band on the Main Stage at 3 p.m. and the Mid Life Cowboy Band at 5:30.
A listing of all the Fair’s events is on the Fair website.
