BRIDGEWATER, NJ - David Usewick rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries to lead Bridgewater-Raritan to a 31-30 football victory over Hillsborough Friday night.

The Panthers (2-0) had a 31-21 lead before holding off a late rally by the Raiders.

Usewick scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter, quarterback Greg Verano kept for a 2-yard TD run and Nick Balliro kicked a 28-yard field goal for Bridgewater-Raritan in the first half, but Hillsborough went into the half with a 21-17 lead.

Usewick put BRHS in front with a 1-yard TD run in the third period, then helped the Panthers extend their lead with a 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Verano passed for 73 yards, completing eight of 15 passes, and carried 12 times for 51 yards.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
