BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Anthony Goffe rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries to power Bridgewater-Raritan to a 35-0 football victory over Elizabeth on Thursday night.

Bridgewater-Raritan (7-2) scored in every quarter, leading, 14-0, at halftime and then doubling that advantage in the third quarter. Greg Verano threw a 36-yard TD pass to Brandon Myers in the first quarter and Justin Bryant carried for a 2-yard TD in the second quarter.

Goffe (1 yard), Casey Hnasko (56 yards) and Ryan Salvatore (1 yard) rushed for TDs in the second half.

Bridgewater-Raritan's defense was anchored by Bryant and Chike Nwankwo, who each were in on 14 tackles. Nick Balliro kicked all five extra points. The Panthers will play a home game in the opening round of the Section 2, Group 5 state playoffs next week, with the time and opponent to be determined.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.
