SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ - Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity is launching a Habitat ReStore in the Somerset County area.
Habitat is looking for unused retail space (about 10,000 to 15,000 square feet) in Somerset County that could support a local Habitat ReStore. Anyone who has a space that can be offered at an affordable rent is being asked to partner with Raritan Valley Habitat to build a stronger community.
Habitat ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat will use the proceeds from the store to build more homes for more families in Hunterdon and Somerset counties.
Right now, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity is looking for a property with certain features (with some flexibility):
- within a 10-mile radius of the Somerville Circle
- zoned for retail (or likely to get a use variance)
- about 10,000 to 15,000 square feet
- loading dock or platform
- parking for 25 to 50 cars
- heat and air conditioning
Anyone who knows of such a space should contact the Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity office by calling 908-704-0016, ext. 15, or by emailing email@example.com.
