The evening of family dining and entertainment will benefit the historic Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament, raising money for critical repairs to the landmark structure located at 52 West Somerset St. in Raritan.

This event will further the restoration and maintenance of the historic church. The structure is the oldest continually active Catholic Church in Somerset County, dating from the 1850s. The Shrine was built by Irish immigrants who, during the Civil War, worked in the local mills making blankets for the union solders. The Shrine, home to the parish of St. Bernard, provided an education to Raritan's hometown World War II hero, Medal of Honor recipient, Marine Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone.

For an all inclusive price of $60, guests will enjoy a full buffet with soft drinks, beer, and wine during the performances by Uncle Floyd and Bramnick. Reservations may be made by sending a check payable to “The Shrine” to 140 Vollers Drive, Branchburg, NJ 08876. For information call 732-690-2682 or 908-507-9322.
