FLEMINGTON, NJ – Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
But science shows that heart disease can be both prevented and reversed.
Hunterdon Healthcare, the corporate parent of Hunterdon Medical Center, offers the Dr. Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease.
The program is nationally recognized through the results of more than 25 years of peer-reviewed, published research for stopping and reversing the progression of heart disease.
Hunterdon Healthcare will host a free information session on the Ornish program from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Hunterdon Family Medicine at Phillips Barber, 72 Alexander Ave. in Lambertville.
Another session will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Adult Lounge at HealthQuest, which is just off Route 31 in Raritan Township.
Participants in the education sessions will learn how this program can optimize their health, the research behind the Ornish reversal program, the four key elements of the program - nutrition, exercise, stress management, and social support - details of the program, medical coverage criteria and how to join. Refreshments from the Ornish Reversal program will be served.
Each information session is free and open to all. To register for either session, call 908-788-6371.
