BRIDGEWATER, NJ - John Vilade scored two goals to lead Ridge to a 5-1 ice hockey victory over Bridgewater-Raritan Saturday night.
With the win, Ridge has clinched the Skyland Conference championship.
Bridgewater-Raritan's lone goal was scored by Andrew Mazur in the first period.
The Red Devils pulled away from a 2-1 lead with three goals in the third period, including both of Vilade's tallies. Alex Konovalov scored the fifth and final goal of the game with 6:16 left.
Ted Kapp scored the first goal of the game for Ridge, and assisted in the tiebreaker that gave the Red Devils a 2-1 lead when Matt Fabiunke scored with 2:21 left in the second period. Kapp and Dan Knightly each had assists on that goal.
Jack Mandala had two assists in the third period, including one on Vilade's goal with 11:29 left for a 3-1 lead. Chris Ambrozy made 27 saves in the victory.
